024. Wildly specific gift guides for art people
Bringing my gifting skills to the substack.
It didn’t really occur to me to do a gift guide for the substack (despite very much working in/around the gift guide industrial complex), especially because I have no desire to monetize this project. The thought of creating a ShopMy account and doing affiliate links is like… I just can’t do it right now. Which is not even the point of a gift guide anyways!
BUT I thought it would be fun to put together a quick one for the art people, by an art person, roughly broken up into a few key archetypes I’ve made up in my mind during my current BFCM (“Black Friday Cyber Monday” for those who don’t work in marketing) psychosis. In reality, all of these are good gifts for all people (IMO), but it was a fun creative exercise to do it this way. Happy holidays, happy shopping, happy gifting!
If you’re looking for current gallery recs, you can still check out my recent favorites in Chelsea and Tribeca x
